A patio needs to hold the furniture you will actually use, plus room to pull out chairs and walk past. Enter the garden, the patio area and the outdoor furniture, and GoSpace lays out patio, lawn and planting zones with a connected path from the gate.

Patio, lawn and paths together
Give the patio a minimum area rather than an exact rectangle, and let the generator find where it fits with the lawn and beds. The access path to each zone is reserved first, so a patio cannot block the way to the rest of the garden. Mark existing trees and sheds as fixed.
Limits
GoSpace does not look up sun, levels, drainage or ground conditions, and it does not specify paving or foundations. For the whole garden, see the garden planner.

Is it free?
Yes. Planning, editing and exports are free during the beta, with no account.
Can I use my own furniture sizes?
Yes. Every item has editable width and depth in the questionnaire and the properties panel, stored to the millimetre.
Can I plan a small courtyard or balcony-sized terrace?
Yes. The small courtyard (8 × 6 m) and compact terrace (7 × 6 m) templates start with planters, a bench or a bistro set.
Does it plan a pool?
It can place an 8 × 4 m pool item with a terrace and loungers, as in the pool garden template. It does not design the pool itself.
